In the stillness of morning, for a moment, I am sure.
I hear the robin doing her noble work.
Before the thrush joins her chorus, the two of us commune.
I share my coffe with her, more bitter than yesterday,
And she declares herself to me.
"A new dawn is coming and I am here to see it through."
I believe her; she's never been wrong before.
The sun will beat down and the world will become big once again,
But for now, I sit here with my friend, the robin.
We are content in the simple act of waking.
It may not always be, but today,
She begins her song, and I follow suit:
"A new dawn is coming, and I am here to see it through."
